Operations Support Engineer

We’re partnering up with a cybersecurity company headquartered in Reston VA to find a Senior Operations Engineer to join their team!  This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity to come in at the ground floor and be hands-on with a world class network. The team is collaborative, and they are looking to facilitate this person’s rapid development. You and the team would be responsible for thousands of devices and 24X7 support.  You will be responsible for systems engineering and administration across the company's multi-platform environment. 

 

 

  • Provide complex technical support for customers via oracle ticketing system, email, phone, hands-on, and remote administration of systems
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with end users, peers, and management
  • Anticipate end user impact and provide preventative support whenever possible

 

Data Center Support:

 

  • Responsible for data center support and monitoring several alert systems 24/7
  • Provide troubleshooting and analysis on alerts, while executing Standard Operating Procedures throughout the process

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelors/Equivalent Experience and 5+ years direct service desk experience
  • Certifications or Equivalent Experience in hardware and software troubleshooting
    • CompTIA A+ 
    • CompTIA Network+ 
    • Cisco CCENT (Preferred)
  • Proficient troubleshooting and knowledge of 
    • Microsoft Windows OS (7\10)
    • Apple (OS X El Capitan\macOS Sierra\iOS 10.x)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (2010-2016) on Windows and Apple
  • Experience in basic systems administration within Active Directory, Exchange, JSS Casper, VMWare 
  • Preferred experience with 
    • Linux (CentOS)
    • AirWatch MDM 
    • Oracle, Service Now, and JIRA ticketing systems
  • Other important skills
    • Ability to work in a positive, fast paced, and challenging environment
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and high attention to detail
    • Flexible with assignments and ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously
    • Can apply substantial knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
    • Comfortable with receiving limited instruction on daily work and new assignments
    • Can work on moderately difficult assignments that require judgement in resolving them or in making recommendations
